LOGISTICS TRANSFORMATION

08:45 The Canadian Forces: Transformation And Operational Support

The unification of the Canadian Forces over 40 years ago significantly facilitated the adoption of joint logistics at home and on operations. In February 2006, the Canadian Operational Support Command was created through a major transformation initiative to further improve the Forces' posture to conduct operations. This Command is responsible to plan, coordinate and deliver multi-functional operational support to all forces assigned to operations whether in Canada or abroad. The Command includes staff organizations and deployable field units that are key enablers to the conduct of operations by the Canadian Forces.
